Comments

Suggested text: When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Suggested text: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

Suggested text: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Suggested text: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with

Suggested text: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Suggested text: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Nibbles Recipes iOS Privacy Policy

Who we are

Nibbles is a lunchbox meal planning app for parents of school-age children. It is developed and operated by [Nibbles Recipes] (“we”, “us”, or “our”). Questions about this policy can be directed to [contact@nibbleskitchen.com].

The short version

Nibbles is built local-first. Almost everything you enter — your children’s profiles, allergen information, pantry items, meal plans, and grocery lists — stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party. The only exception is the subscription system, which uses RevenueCat to manage purchases. We do not run analytics, we do not sell data, and we do not create accounts.

What data Nibbles stores

Stored only on your device

All of the following data is stored locally using SwiftData and never leaves your device unless you explicitly back it up through iCloud (see below):

DataPurpose
Children’s profiles (name, birth month/year, avatar)Personalise the planning experience per child
Allergen information per childFilter recipes to ensure safety
Food dislikes per childTailor recipe suggestions
Parent/household name and cuisine preferencesPersonalise suggestions
Pantry itemsEnable pantry-aware meal planning
Meal plans (recipes assigned to dates and children)Core planning functionality
Grocery list itemsShopping assistance
App preferences and settingsPersist your configuration between sessions

We never receive, transmit, or have access to any of this information.

Subscription data — RevenueCat

Nibbles uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and free trials. When you subscribe or restore a purchase, RevenueCat processes the transaction through Apple and returns an entitlement status to the app.

RevenueCat may collect:

  • A randomly-generated anonymous device identifier (not linked to your name or Apple ID by us)
  • Purchase receipt data (processed by Apple’s servers)
  • App version and platform (for debugging subscription issues)

RevenueCat does not receive your children’s profiles, allergen data, pantry contents, or any other personal information you enter into Nibbles.

You can review RevenueCat’s privacy policy at: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

What data we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information
  • We do not run analytics or usage tracking of any kind
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers
  • We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or photo library
  • We do not create user accounts
  • We do not transmit meal plans, recipes, or pantry data to any server

Children’s privacy

Nibbles is designed for use by parents, not by children directly. The app stores information about children (such as allergen profiles and food preferences) at the parent’s direction, for the sole purpose of planning safe and appropriate meals.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. All data entered about a child is stored only on the parent’s device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. Parents have full control over this data at all times and can delete it from within the app or by uninstalling the app.

If you are a parent and have concerns about your child’s data, please contact us at [YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS].

iCloud backup

If you have iCloud backup enabled on your device, iOS may include your Nibbles local database in your device backup as part of standard iCloud backup behaviour. This is controlled entirely by your iOS settings and Apple’s iCloud policies — not by Nibbles. We do not initiate, control, or have access to any iCloud backup of your data.

Note: Nibbles does not use CloudKit sync. iCloud backup (a general iOS feature) is different from in-app CloudKit sync, which we have not implemented.

Data retention and deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you are in complete control:

  • To delete all app data: Uninstall Nibbles from your device. This permanently removes the local database and all data within it.
  • To delete specific data: Use the in-app settings to remove individual children’s profiles, pantry items, or other records.
  • To remove subscription data: Contact RevenueCat support or manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings.

We do not hold copies of your data and cannot restore it if the app is uninstalled.

Third-party services

Nibbles integrates with one third-party service:

ServicePurposePrivacy policy
RevenueCatSubscription and purchase managementhttps://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

All other functionality — recipe data, planning logic, pantry tracking, grocery lists — runs entirely on-device with no third-party involvement.

App Store privacy labels

Nibbles declares the following in its App Store privacy nutrition label:

  • Data Not Linked to You: Purchase history (handled by RevenueCat/Apple, used only to verify subscription status)
  • Data Not Collected: All other categories

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California). Because we do not collect or hold your personal data, most of these rights are satisfied by default — your data is already on your device, under your control. For subscription-related data held by RevenueCat, please refer to their privacy policy and contact them directly.

If you have any privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at [contact@nibbleskitchen.com] and we will respond promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy — for example, if a future version of Nibbles adds analytics or a backend service — we will update the effective date and notify users via an in-app notice or App Store release notes before the change takes effect. We will not introduce data collection practices that contradict this policy without your knowledge.
