Nibbles Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nibbles Recipes and the Nibbles Kitchen website (collectively, “Nibbles,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handle information.
Nibbles is a meal-planning and lunchbox-planning app intended for parents and caregivers. The app is designed to work without an account, login, analytics service, advertising SDK, or cloud database operated by us.

The short version
Nibbles is built local-first. Children’s profiles, allergen selections, food preferences, pantry items, grocery lists, meal plans, favorites, and app settings are stored on your device. We do not receive or have access to this information.
For users who select the United States as their shopping country, Nibbles offers optional, clearly disclosed Amazon affiliate links. When you choose to open one of these links, a grocery search phrase and Nibbles’ non-personal affiliate tag are included in the Amazon URL. Amazon then opens outside Nibbles and handles your interaction under Amazon’s own privacy practices.
We do not sell personal information, use advertising identifiers, run behavioral analytics, or create user profiles for advertising.
Information stored by the Nibbles app
The following information is stored locally on your device:

This information is stored using Apple’s on-device storage technologies, including SwiftData and UserDefaults. It is not transmitted to Nibbles servers because we do not operate an account system, app backend, or cloud-sync service for this information.
Amazon affiliate shopping
Affiliate shopping is optional and is currently available only to users who select the United States as their shopping country.
When you tap an Amazon shopping link, Nibbles creates an external Amazon search URL containing:
- The grocery item’s shopping search phrase;
- Nibbles’ Amazon Associate tag; and
- Standard Amazon link-attribution parameters.
Nibbles does not add a child’s name, age, allergen profile, meal plan, pantry contents, device advertising identifier, or other family-profile information to the Amazon link.
Amazon opens in its own app or in your device’s browser. Nibbles does not display Amazon pages inside the app, select a product for you, add products to an Amazon cart, process a payment, or complete a purchase.
Once Amazon opens, Amazon may process information such as the search request, IP address, browser or device information, cookies, Amazon account activity, and purchase activity according to the Amazon Privacy Notice. Nibbles does not control Amazon’s services or privacy practices.
Amazon may provide us with aggregated or non-identifying affiliate reports, such as the number of link clicks, qualifying purchases, and resulting commissions. We do not receive your Amazon password, payment-card details, shipping address, or Nibbles family-profile information from Amazon.
Amazon links are identified as advertisements or paid links before they are opened.

Shopping country
Nibbles asks which country you usually shop in so it can determine whether compatible retailer features should be displayed. Your selection is stored locally on your device and can be changed in Settings.
Nibbles does not use GPS, request location permission, or use your precise physical location to determine shopping eligibility.
Information we do not collect through the app
- We do not require or create a Nibbles account.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or mailing addresses through the app.
- We do not collect children’s profiles, birth dates, allergen selections, or food preferences.
- We do not collect pantry items, grocery lists, favorites, or meal plans.
- We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or device advertising identifiers.
- We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, or photo library.
- We do not receive Amazon login, payment, shipping, or customer-account information.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
Children’s privacy
Nibbles is designed for use by parents and caregivers, not for independent use by children. A parent or caregiver may enter information about a child to personalize meal planning, but that information remains on the parent’s or caregiver’s device and is not transmitted to us.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Parents and caregivers control the locally stored information and may edit or delete it within the app.
Nibbles provides planning assistance only. Parents and caregivers must independently review recipe ingredients, allergen information, food packaging, preparation practices, and school requirements.
iCloud and device backups
If iCloud Backup or another device-backup service is enabled, the operating system may include Nibbles’ local data in a device backup. This is controlled through your device and Apple-account settings. We do not initiate, control, or have access to those backups.
Nibbles does not use CloudKit to synchronize profiles, meal plans, pantry items, or grocery lists between devices. You can review Apple’s practices in the Apple Privacy Policy.

Server and security information
When you visit the website, our hosting, security, and network providers may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, requested pages, referring page, and date and time of access. This information may be used to deliver the website, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and maintain security.
Contacting us
If you email us or submit a contact form, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, name, and message. We use it to respond to your request, provide support, maintain business records, and protect against fraud or abuse.
Comments and Gravatar
If comments are enabled and you submit a comment, the website may process the information entered in the comment form along with your IP address and browser information for moderation and spam prevention.
An anonymized value created from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to determine whether you use that service. If your comment is approved, your Gravatar profile image may appear publicly with the comment. Gravatar is operated by Automattic and is subject to the Automattic Privacy Policy.
Cookies
The website may use cookies that are necessary for operation, security, remembering preferences, or comment functionality. Browser settings can be used to delete or block cookies, although doing so may affect parts of the website.
We do not use website cookies to access information stored inside the Nibbles app.
Embedded content and external links
Website pages may contain links to or embedded content from third-party websites. Interacting with third-party content may allow that provider to collect information under its own privacy policy, as if you had visited that provider directly. We do not control third-party websites or their privacy practices.
How information is shared
We do not sell personal information.
Information may be processed by service providers only as necessary to operate the website, deliver email, prevent spam or fraud, provide device backups chosen by the user, or support the external Amazon affiliate experience described above.
We may also preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect legal rights, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect users and the public.
Data retention and deletion
App information
Information created in the Nibbles app remains on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual profiles, pantry items, grocery items, plans, and other records using available in-app controls. Uninstalling Nibbles removes its local app data from the device, subject to any device backups maintained separately by Apple or another backup provider.
Because we do not receive or store this local app information, we cannot retrieve or restore it for you.
Website and support information
Support emails and contact-form messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
If website comments are enabled, comments and associated moderation information may be retained until the comment is deleted or retention is no longer necessary.
Information processed by Amazon, Apple, Automattic, hosting providers, email providers, or other external services is subject to each provider’s retention practices.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
Most information entered into the Nibbles app is held only on your device and can be managed directly in the app. For information you have provided through the website or a support request, contact contact@nibbleskitchen.com.
Requests concerning information held by Amazon, Apple, Automattic, or another third party must be directed to that provider.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the limited information we handle. However, no device, website, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Apple or Amazon accounts.
International processing
Website, email, backup, and external retailer providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies and applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Nibbles’ functionality, third-party services, or legal obligations change. We will update the effective date above when changes are published. If a change materially affects how the app handles information, we may also provide notice through the app or its App Store release notes.
