Tail Treats privacy policy
Who we are
Tail Treats is a homemade dog-treat recipe app that checks recipes against ingredients toxic to dogs and your own dog’s allergies. It is developed and operated by Nibbles Kitchen (“we”, “us”, or “our”). Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@nibbleskitchen.com.
The short version
Tail Treats is built local-first. Almost everything you enter — your dogs’ profiles, allergies, condition flags, pantry, bake history, and grocery lists — stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. The only exception is the subscription system, which uses RevenueCat to manage purchases through Apple. We don’t run analytics, we don’t sell data, and we don’t create accounts.
What Tail Treats stores
Stored only on your device
All of the following is stored locally using SwiftData and never leaves your device unless you back it up through iCloud (see below):

We never receive, transmit, or have access to any of this information.
Subscription data — RevenueCat
Tail Treats uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and free trials. When you subscribe or restore a purchase, RevenueCat processes the transaction through Apple and returns your entitlement status to the app. RevenueCat may collect:
- A randomly-generated anonymous identifier (not linked by us to your name or Apple ID)
- Purchase receipt data (processed by Apple’s servers)
- App version and platform (to help debug subscription issues)
RevenueCat does not receive your dogs’ profiles, allergy data, pantry contents, or anything else you enter into Tail Treats. You can review RevenueCat’s privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information
- We do not run analytics or usage tracking of any kind
- We do not use advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers
- We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or photo library
- We do not create user accounts
- We do not transmit your dogs’ data, recipes, or pantry contents to any server
Children’s privacy
Tail Treats is intended for use by adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app stores data only on your device and transmits nothing to us, no personal information about any user is collected by us at all.
iCloud backup
If you have iCloud backup enabled on your device, iOS may include the Tail Treats local database in your device backup as part of standard iCloud backup behaviour. This is controlled entirely by your iOS settings and Apple’s iCloud policies — not by Tail Treats. We do not initiate, control, or have access to any iCloud backup of your data.
Note: Tail Treats does not use CloudKit sync. iCloud backup (a general iOS feature) is different from in-app CloudKit sync, which we have not implemented.
Data retention and deletion
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you are in complete control:
- To delete all app data: use “Reset all data” in the app’s settings, or uninstall Tail Treats. Either permanently removes the local database and everything in it.
- To delete specific data: remove individual dog profiles, pantry items, or other records from within the app.
- To remove subscription data: manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings, or contact RevenueCat support.
We do not hold copies of your data and cannot restore it if the app is uninstalled — because we never had a copy.

All other functionality — recipe data, safety checks, portion math, pantry tracking, grocery lists — runs entirely on-device with no third-party involvement.
App Store privacy labels
Tail Treats declares the following in its App Store privacy nutrition label:
- Data Not Linked to You: Purchase history (handled by RevenueCat / Apple, used only to verify subscription status)
- Data Not Collected: all other categories
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California). Because we do not collect or hold your personal data, most of these rights are satisfied by default — your data is already on your device, under your control. For subscription-related data held by RevenueCat, please refer to their privacy policy and contact them directly.

Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy — for example, if a future version of Tail Treats adds analytics or a backend service — we will update the date above and notify users via an in-app notice or App Store release notes before the change takes effect. We will not introduce data collection practices that contradict this policy without your knowledge.
